JMID completes fun, fresh renovations in North Naples
Jinx McDonald Interior Designs, Inc. (JMID) recently completed the interior design on a 2,400 square foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in North Naples in partnership with EECON Construction.
To begin the renovation, walls were demolished and moved around to create a large living room. Open to a new kitchen that takes advantage of key windows in the home, it lets ample amounts of natural light into the room.
“A large group can gather in this open kitchen and can spill over into the living room, said Minka McDonald, President of Jinx McDonald Interior Designs. “The living room consists of matching sofas and a pair of leather recliners facing a focal TV wall with built-in cabinets and floating shelves on either side.”
Crisp white shaker cabinets with fully integrated appliances line the anchor wall of the kitchen with a custom nickel gap hood and floating shelves set off by a beautiful blue-glass backsplash run in a herringbone pattern. The rich blue is picked back up in the cabinets on the large island that is topped with a grey Silestone countertop with crystal flecks.
At the bay window opposite the island, the designer created a cozy window seat with storage. A new laundry/mudroom was created as well as a new pantry for the kitchen.
“Knowing that the client would want to dine while watching football games or the news on his large flat-screen TV, we created a custom dining console backing up to one of the two sofas, with counter-height stools so there’s no worry about getting food on his sofas,” added McDonald.
The master bedroom received white nickel gap on the ceiling and a sliding door with three rain glass panels to the bathroom. White nickel gap clads two focal walls in the bathroom and contrasts beautifully with large gray shower wall tiles. A playful grey and white mini hexagon mosaic tile is run on the bathroom and shower floor and ties the room together.
The exterior of the home was also remodeled to complement the new interiors. The walls were updated with white Lap siding and the windows were dressed with blue Bahama Shutters that match the frame on the new glass-paneled front door. A new garage door, exterior light fixtures and grey shingle roof topped off the exterior work.
