Home of the Week: 46929 Foxstone Place, Sterling |
This four-bedroom, 4.5 bath home sits on a tree-lined street in Sterling’s Cascades community. With more than 4,200 feet of interior living space and a listing price just under $900,000, RE/MAX team leader Deborah Melia described the home as “very popular,” and said potential buyers had booked it once every 30 minutes from Friday to Sunday last weekend.
Foxstone Place offers “a sense of community that you don’t find anywhere else in Cascades,” Melia said. On the first day of school, “kids write their names in chalk on the sidewalk. Everybody looks out for each other.”
With a backyard that looks out onto a lush wooded area, the property would be ideal for a buyer who can appreciate both community and privacy, she said.
The front of the home has a red brick façade and a red front door, which is covered by a colonnade. A two-car garage with separate doors for each car port stands at the far right of the home’s ground floor. The second story exterior features a window directly above each one on the first floor, as well as a fifth surrounded by banisters, directly above the front door.
Hardwood floors with a golden-brown hue extend throughout the ground floor interior. In the entryway, walls are painted a sandy beige, offset by glossy white wood trim and beveled accents on the lower portions of the walls. A chandelier hangs just past the front door in the foyer, providing a luxurious ambiance.
A formal living room with a gas-burning fireplace trimmed with black stone and a white wood mantle stands to the right of the foyer, facing the street. Its walls and ceiling match the colors found in the entryway, and leads to a formal dining room in the rear of the house with the same color scheme. A bright metal chandelier hangs in the center of the room, where a table would sit, and a pair of windows off to the side allow owners and guests to take in the wooded landscape while they dine or unwind.
The home’s kitchen, with light green walls, white ceilings, dark countertops and bright, white cabinetry and millwork stands at the rear of the home, to the right of the dining room. A white subway tile backsplash wrapping around the corner of the kitchen from millwork at the dining room entrance to a broad window looking out toward the woods provides a pristine backdrop for cooking and cleaning.
A family room with a wood-burning fireplace trimmed with brick and a glossy white mantle sits past the kitchen in the rear of the home, opposite the dining room. Without a partition wall between them, the family room and kitchen space invite owners and visitors to an airy, open space with captivating views of the woods behind the property. A discreet door between the two areas leads out onto a deck, perfect for outdoor entertaining.
The home’s second level houses three full bathrooms, as well as four bedrooms. The owner’s suite is equipped with a sitting area to the side of the bedroom, as well as a spacious bathroom with a soaking tub, free-standing shower and twin vanities set above bright white tilework on the floor.
Melia said that in addition to the home’s interior offerings, its proximity to Dulles Town Center and Cascades Overlook Town Center provides a host of options for shopping and dining. “Foxstone Place is known as a street that people really love,” she said.
