Wood Look Vinyl Flatware Box Makeover

This wood appear vinyl offers any project that wooden look immediately and effortlessly!

It is trash to treasure day and I’m sharing a brand new makeover.  A little something I fixed up for my husband and gave it type of a a lot more “manly” look with the white/copper and wooden appear vinyl.

This is something I picked up at the thrift retailer a even though back again. It is not part of any of my large hauls, just anything I noticed on an outing!

I can locate these all day long at the thrift shops. They are excellent minor storage boxes and you can come across them so low-priced.
Most of them are serious wooden, this a single is not, however.
But I utilized wood glimpse vinyl on the inside to give it the search of wood.

The only point I dislike about these flatware containers are the insides. They are commonly this sort of a bear to get rid of.

Unfortunately, the best piece arrived aside as I was striving to remove the insides.

And what came out of it…

I unscrewed the prime from the bottom to conveniently obtain when attaching the vinyl and portray.

I took the knobs and handles from the sides…

…and sprayed them a pretty copper colour.

I glued the leading items again jointly applying E6000 glue and let it sit right away.

I eliminated as much of that paper as I could and then sanded it to clean it out.

I then utilized Extremely Grip to seal up the pretend wood base and make it so the wooden search vinyl would adhere greater.
I do not believe it would have caught to this cardboard/pressboard “wood” pretty nicely.

Upcoming, I measured and reduce the vinyl sections and applied…

When that was performed, I began painting.

I also utilized Extremely Grip on the outside the house and utilised 2 coats of paint immediately after that. (I let the Extremely Grip sit right away in advance of painting)
I reattached the “new” copper color hardware and finished!

Really like that Fusion Mineral Paint does not require to be sealed. You can but you do not have to.
I didn’t seal this 1.

In this article is exactly where my husband will use it…

…up on his constructed-in in our bedroom. Spend no brain to the unfinished wooden best. I am still attempting to determine if I will stain that or paint it.
I *assume* I have determined to stain it simply because I can constantly paint right after if that is not the look we want.
I will be sharing the bedroom and his built-in quickly, just a few issues to do on the constructed-in right before we expose. This bad task acquired pushed to the back again burner! ha!

You can see a small sneak peek of it in that photograph. So I need to have to caulk all all around the designed-in, stain that leading and we need to increase ornamental doorway fronts to his IKEA simple PAX established up there.

In any case, back to the wood look vinyl flatware box.

It will be a nice very little location for him to maintain his cuff inbound links, watches, rings, and many others.

Just as a reminder, this is the quite same vinyl I employed on our nightstands in our bedroom. It’s holding up wonderful, by the way!
