Good day dear visitors (if there are any audience still left)! What took place to running a blog? If only I knew. I have missing a little bit my mojo I feel. Also this digital life has develop into rather draining – I type of sense it a lot more and additional following nearly 3 yrs of freelancing and mostly operating by myself from residence. Really do not get me mistaken, I am joyful, I like what I do. But at times I experience like it is too repetitive, it is too superficial, it is irrelevant, boring – did I point out repetitive? Well even the phrases in this article turn into recurring.

From time to time I wallow in reminiscences and come across it all pretty astonishing. Not several of you will know, but I analyzed worldwide company administration and economics and when I was a scholar social media wasn’t a detail nonetheless. I consider it was the early ages of some college student networks these as early Fb and some German counterparts that I understood as somebody living and learning in Austria. Imagining a experienced profession in the electronic environment or more specifically in the sphere of social media was just unimaginable. And nonetheless below I am, entire time influencer. Oh how I despise the word. I really do. Influencer? As if I am sitting down at house and building conspiratorial options on how to affect and seduce you. You know, like purchase this, acquire that, increase more plants (alright guilty for the latter at minimum).

I have consciously selected this ‘career’ path. Do you see how I put the phrase vocation in quotation marks? Yup, mainly because I typically want to encourage myself that this is my work now. That this IS a career at all. Still I surprise: Is it truly a work? Or am I just fortunate to be riding the electronic wave and having found my niche to make my living with it? I occasionally are likely to neglect the path that led me to wherever I am currently. Decades and years of non prevent running a blog (of course again then I blogged 6 moments a 7 days) and continual networking on Twitter (those were being the years). And all of this I did for yrs in a row though also possessing a total time work in PR and marketing agencies (with all the glamour of piling surplus hours and shoddy pay back). People were times where by I would start functioning at 9 am and end at property at just one or two am. Going to bed, waking up, and doing all of it once more the subsequent day. For decades and a long time. And then I bit by bit managed to develop my site, my social media existence, create a group of plant lovers, publish just one ebook , then a further, operate on design and styling tasks, give lectures, host classes and so on. And now I am a freelancer. Entire time ‘influencer’. Total time performing from house. Comprehensive time questioning if this is seriously appropriate and satisfying. Tons of comprehensive here. Repetitive and recurring.

I just reread my last paragraph and I do get the notion that this could sound a little bit detrimental or disillusioned. But neither is legitimate to be trustworthy. I am happy, I like what I do, I just surprise if this is what I want to do for the following years to arrive. I wrote guides. I did design jobs. I labored as a speaker and course host. So what is subsequent? I do not know myself but I want one thing new to surface on the horizon. Anything that would challenge me once again and motivate my creativeness and understanding. In the meantime rest assured that I am happily sharing what conjures up me and what keeps me heading creatively – largely on Instagram (and yes, I desire the time period inspirator about influencer). But I want to be way a lot more active below on the blog way too from now on (thanks Holly from Decor8 for frequently reminding me of running a blog). It currently feels a lot more sizeable creating a lengthier text than just a couple of traces of an IG caption. And whether or not or not any individual is examining this – it will be out there riding the electronic wave and whoever surfs by, love the trip and the go through!
