Located in the Marvin Beach community of Norwalk, the home on 15 Wallace Avenue sits on one of the eight streets in the neighborhood. The street is something Compass listing agent Andrea Viscuso sees as the “heart of the neighborhood.”

“It really is a special place,” she said about the community, which hosts annual Easter egg hunts, lobster bakes and other holiday festivities.

The home is located steps away from the neighborhood’s three private beaches. Homeowners have access to the Marvin Beach Yacht Club with a private marina of 20 boat slips. The “pocket of land,” as described by Viscuso, also has Shore and Country Club, which overlooks the Long Island Sound.

The Colonial-style three bedroom and one-and-a-half bathroom home was built in 1922, but has been renovated over the years and features an open-floor concept suitable for entertainment. In the kitchen, there is a large L-shaped island that seats four. The kitchen also features modern appliances, like a Viking gas range and ASKO Swedish dishwasher, known for its quietness, according to the listing agent. The appliances are surrounded by granite countertops, custom cabinetry and a window overlooking the backyard.

The kitchen blends into the dining room, which is currently outfitted with a table that seats eight. The windows and sliding doors give the room ample natural light, and the doors connect to the large deck with outdoor furniture and space for grilling. The deck overlooks the fenced-in yard that is lined with flowers. Wrapped around the house is an outdoor shower with cedar enclosure, according to the listing

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, a full bathroom and four closets, three of which belong to the primary bedroom.

“They really took advantage of every nook and cranny,” Viscuso said of the second floor’s layout.

The shoreline city of Norwalk has seen an increase in median home sale prices over the last year. According to national real estate brokerage Redfin, the average home sale price for the 06855 ZIP code where the Wallace Avenue home is located has increased 13.5 percent year over year to a median price of $567,500. The number of homes sold in the area in May 2022 decreased from 23 in May 2021 to 18 in May 2022, while homes spent an average of 35 days on the market this past May.

The 15 Wallace Avenue home is listed by Compass and is presented by Andrea Viscuso of the Forte Team (203-627-7767).
