During a seminar organized by the Pontifical Council for Social Communications on the mission and identity of communications departments in Catholic universities, Benedict XVI said that the means of communication should be easily accessible because they allow people to share understandings in quick and effective ways. “As experts in the theory and practice of communication and as teachers who are forming the next generation of communicators,” the Pope said, “you have a privileged role not only in the lives of your students, but also in the mission of your local Churches and their pastors in introducing all men to the Good News of the Love of God.”
