The Holy Father: “The Church makes Eucharist and the Eucharist makes the Church”

Loading ...(h2onews) At the Quebec International Eucharistic Congress, Benedict XVI asked the entire Church for “a renewed attention for the preparation of the reception of the Eucharist”. He said it in his message via satellite from Rome.
Father Thomas Rosica and Sister Antonia Maria of the Trinity talk about the sense of the Eucharist in this interview in Quebec.
“And so when the Church celebrates the Eucharist we recall what is deepest and closest to our hearts. We celebrate Jesus, you know the old saying of one of the fathers of the Church is that the Church makes the Eucharist and the Eucharist makes the Church”.
“He says that when we receive the Eucharist we receive fire and spirit. And I just love that image,of like when we receive in faith and we go out it’s like we’re breathing fire unto the world and that’s how the world will change. Like you kept saying sister that you receive the Lord but then you are sent out on mission to change the world”.
